Panic attacks are sudden intense experiences of anxiety and fear.
People describe panic attacks in different ways, but commonly they describe it as being “like a heart attack”. If you have a panic attack it is common to worry that there may be something seriously wrong with your health, although this is rarely the case. Other sensations include a racing heartbeat, struggling for breath or hyperventilating, feeling faint and/or sick, feeling either very hot or very cold and trembling.
