Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about appointments, fees, or anything else, check our FAQ below

  • How do I make an appointment?

It is easy to make an appointment – please see our Appointments page

  • How long will I have to wait to see a therapist?

Usually not long at all – within two weeks.  This depends on who you would like to see and what times you are available.  If you require an appointment later in the day, then you may have to wait longer as these slots are limited.

  • How do I pay?

As all therapists are self-employed they will have different payment systems.  Cash or cheque is fine.  Most therapists accept BACs payments and some have card machines.  You can request an invoice or receipt should you need one.

  • I can't afford to pay...

Whilst we have to charge, we are looking into getting some funding in the future.  We currently have a couple of reduced fee appointments.  These may incur a much longer waiting time, but we would like to make therapy available to everyone. We don’t want fees to be a barrier to getting help so please talk to us if you’re on a limited income.

  • Can I make an appointment for someone else?

Yes, this is possible as long as the person you are making the appointment for (e.g. your child or family member) is in agreement that they would like to come for an initial session.

  • My family member is having therapy - can I come with them?

If you are coming for family therapy then you can all come along.

If your family member will be receiving individual therapy then we will be seeing them alone.  But if they would like you to come along for the first session we would usually invite you into the room for the first 10 minutes or so.

Please note that we have no waiting room facility.

  • Can I wait in the building for my family member to finish their session?

We do not have a waiting room, so we would ask that you leave the building.

  • I don't know which therapist to see

You don't have to know!  Call us on 07949 340943 or email us at [email protected] to talk through who might be the best fit for you

  • Is what I say confidential?

We take confidentiality very seriously.  Please see our confidentiality page for more information or get in contact with us.

  • Where does the therapy take place?

We have 4 therapy rooms at the practice.  One of these is a large room suitable for family/couples therapy.  All are soundproofed to ensure confidentiality.

The building offers full disabled access, including a ground floor accessible therapy room and a WC.

  • Will I have to lie on a couch?

Never!  We have comfortable armchairs and sofas for you to sit on.

  • Is there disabled access?

Yes, the building has disabled access and a downstairs accessible therapy room.

  • What are your working hours?

We work Monday – Friday.  Appointments start at 9am and the last one usually starts at 5.30/6pm.  Occasionally we may be able to offer slightly later appointments.

Different therapists work on different days so please get in touch and we’ll be able to help.
